When it gets busy, it's stressful worrying about the line of customers waiting to get their beauty services done. No one likes waiting and it's human instinct to naturally feel like they are more important than others. Creating a comfortable atmosphere for the customers to relax while they wait will help prevent irritation and frustration.
1) Spacious and Enough Comfortable Seats
Let me tell you how flustered I got once when entering into a salon where the waiting area is so small and crammed. I had to stand in a corner once to wait because there was not enough seats to share. Did not enjoy that experience at all!
2) Reading Shelf
I'm pretty sure the salon is the only place I have enough time to sit back and catch up on my reading like what is in these days and what crazy drama the Kardashians are getting into.
3) WHY NOT Add a Beverage Area? (either a small bar, mini fridge, or a drink stand)
We already know drinking a small glass of wine can really loosen us up and helps us relax.
I've been to a salon in California before where they have a
mini bar in the waiting room. I was midway finishing up my glass of wine when one of the technicians called my name to provided my spa services. I must say, the wait did not seem that long at all!! I was too relaxed and bubbly by time I plopped my butt on one of those
pedicure spas heehee.. maybe that's why they only offered 1-2 alcoholic glasses per customer ;) I see what they did there.
4) Polish Display
PLEASE make room for the
polish display area. This has got to be the most important area for your customers to decide on what color that will really bring out attention so that the cute guy at the coffee shop will finally realize them to come up and give them that compliment they have been writing in their dream dairy for days.
BEWARE..if your crush does come up to you to compliment how awesome your nails look..50/50 chance he isn't into you but legitimately into your nails so that he can copy your color to impress his boyfriend.

I thought this was hilarious when I saw this on
+Whale Spa 's Instagram. Let me ask you.. how many times have you taken pictures of your nails to brag to everyone how fabulous your nails look and posted it on some social network?? 6) Nail Care To-Go
People go to the salon to get beauty-fied and cleaned-up. Once they are done they want to maintain the care of their pretty nails. Salon professionals are great at what they do and are highly educated in the beauty industry. So having that gift, it is nice to share. Displaying a shelf of nail-care products benefits the salon and their clients.
