We, as women, all have so little time during the day but somehow we still manage to always..most of the time.. look like angelic creatures walking on the face of Earth. Men don't realize the extent of work we put into keeping our youthful beauty.. THEY SHOULD APPRECIATE US! One thing is, we don't do it for them though, we do it for ourselves. Keeping up with taking care of the only body that was given to us comes with a lot of work but it's what makes us angelic creatures. BECAUSE WE CAN DO IT. We are always up for challenges.
Okay, okay. So maybe I am going a little too far with the empowering movement of women. We're just great ;) So here are some beauty tips that keeps us looking and feeling our best.
WASH YOUR HAIR THE RIGHT WAY!
Beauty comes with a series of rules, and bathing is no exception. We all do the typical routine of shampoo first, conditioner second. It's not wrong to do that, i'm not stopping you. BUT if you want that shiny bouncy hair look, IT IS TIME TO MIX IT UP! Did you know that conditioning before you shampoo will actually keep your ends healthier and it will also fill any holes in the cuticle with moisture to make them smoother and boosting with shine?
1) Start with rinsing your hair with very warm water until it is fully damp. The warm water will open the cuticle to help remove any dirt or product that is trapped in your hair.
2) Condition first, just do it! This will protect your fragile ends from drying out and causing further damage.
3) Lather up your hair with shampoo BUT only at the scalp! The hair closest to your scalp are the ones that are the oiliest. The soap will naturally run down to the ends of your hair on it's own when you are rinsing off.
For short or thin hair= a quarter-size amount of shampoo
For long or thick hair= double that
4) BE GENTLE when rinsing off with water! Start with lathering your roots to increase the blood flow to the scalp and stimulate hair growth with medium pressure and up and down strokes. Slowly move down towards the ends.
5) Once the soap is fully washed off, add some conditioner towards the mid-length of tips. Clip your hair up while leaving the conditioner on and continue finish showering.
6) FINISH OFF with cold water to close the cuticles tight, causing it to keep your hair from shedding off more and also sealing the outer layer to reflect the most light to give you the most shine!!
NAIL HACKS
1) To make your manicure last, apply a thin layer of clear nail polish every 2 days! Make sure to coat the edges, that's where they usually start to chip.
2) Use ice water to dry your nails after a brief air dry! The cold water will really set the color!
3) Annoyed with the messy polish on your skin when painting them? Line your nails with Vaseline before you paint and then wipe the mistakes off when done!
4) Prevent chipping by doing the double base coat method. Paint the base coat on the top portion of your nails only and then apply a second coat over your whole nail afterwards.
5) Make your light or translucent colors pop more by applying white polish as your base!
6) Glitters are pretty but they are a pain in the butt to take off! Try soaking it off like you would with gel polish (dip a piece of cotton enough to cover your nail in acetone, press firmly on the nail and wrap in in foil).
SKIN HABITS YOU NEED TO QUIT
1) I understand there's a hot guy at the gym that you have been dying to talk to but that make-up you have on honey, is going to destroy your face. Working out with make-up on can cause a huge build up of excess oil that will clog your pores! So while you a sweating, your pores are opening up. That's when the layer of make-up you have on, combined with the dirt and bacteria, those are the key ingredients to horrible breakouts!
2) Stop picking your pimples! It can lead to scarring and end up turning into dark spots on your face. Touching your face in general is a NO-GO. The oils on your hands can be one of the many reasons why you just won't stop breaking out!
3) Under no circumstances are you to sleep with your make-up on. It is very important to take care of your skin before you end your day with a beauty sleep. Always wash that layer of make-up you have on off and then wash your face with a daily cleanser to wash away that excess oil, dirt, and bacteria that can clog your pores.
4) Avoid rubbing your eyes. They can lead to fine lines around your eye area. The surrounding skin area of your eye has the thinnest later on your face. That area is the first to show signs of aging. So avoid pulling your skin when applying make-up or contacts, or rubbing that area when removing make-up. Just be gentle to your skin.
5) Sleep with your face away from your pillow. The oil from your hair is trapped into your sheets and with you face planting into your pillow at night is just adding unwanted oils onto your face. Not only that, falling asleep on your pillow can cause unwanted fine lines and wrinkles.
6) Cure dried lips with lip balm, not salvia! Yes dry lips can be super comfortable, but licking or biting your lips is not the best solution. Your saliva is drying it more and is also taking away any natural moisture you have on your lips already.
Lots of Love,
